Commission Process
Commissioning your own Memory Glass with us
Commission process and often asked concerns:
Commissioning a piece of handmade, memorial glass is a very personal and emotional decision, a way to hold your loved one close. It is a process that we take seriously and handle with sensitivity and compassion.
Initially please do get in contact. You will find us happy talk to you by telephone, email and of course you will have a warm welcome if you would like to visit our studio and talk about what you might be looking for, a piece of beautiful remembrance jewellery or an item of glassware or wall art incorporating the ashes of your loved one.
We will discuss design, colours, ideas you may have and would like incorporated into your design be it glass art or jewellery. If you decide you would like jewellery we can decide which precious metal you would like us to use and which style of glass gem you would like included.
If you are unsure of a design you would like then please browse through some of our finished pieces for ideas or come to the studio and chat about the options we have that will work for you.
At this point, once you have decided to go ahead, we will either send you a pack including a small box for posting us the ashes of your loved one, or you are welcome to bring some with you when you visit the studio. Please be assured that the ashes will be handled with respect at all times and are labelled and stored safely and securely.
There is no charge for the design consultation, but once the details have been agreed we ask for a 50% deposit to begin your commission and the balance to be paid once we have completed your keepsake.
Please give us an idea of your budget and whether there is a deadline to meet so that we can do our very best to meet your needs.
A fitting for some items such as rings may be required before we complete your personal memory glass.
The cost of hallmarking your jewellery will be included in the cost.
Please be reassured that we empathise with your loss and have gone through the grieving process ourselves.
